500th CAD-det Test Performed
AusculSciences today announced that its research partners have successfully performed CAD-det System tests on over 500 patients recruited into the company’s investigational clinical studies. The studies – led by Dr. Benjamin Chow of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) – recruit participants from patients scheduled for elective cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) or invasive cardiac catheterization angiography (ICA). Immediately prior to their procedure, participants undergo a non-invasive, non-stressful, non-nuclear CAD-det System test.
Data from these 500 volunteers will be used by the company to further train the CAD-det System’s machine learning algorithms to analyze and identify the signals associated with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).
With participants now being recruited at three centers in Canada – UOHI plus the University of Calgary and the University of New Brunswick – the rate of data collection and analysis is expected to increase substantially.
